Dr. Derrick Campbell became an Academic Coordinator for Clinical Education at the Austin-TX campus in April 2017.
Prior to joining the USA Clinical Education team, Dr. Campbell served the past 9 years as Center Coordinator for Clinical Education for Texas Orthopedics Sports and Rehab Associates of Austin, Texas. He has worked in outpatient orthopedics, inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, pediatric care, and with professional sports teams. He currently treats the Texas Stars Professional Ice Hockey farm club of the Dallas Stars. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), as well as a member of the Texas chapter (TPTA), the McKenzie Institute for Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT), the Sportsmetrics ACL prevention and performance training program, and is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS).
Dr. Campbell has served as a volunteer for Special Olympics, and remains active with youth ice hockey programs. He remains active with family time, outdoor activities, and playing ice hockey. His scholarship focus will be on clinical education, and topics related to student success.
